For months now, Pokémon fans have regarded video game retailer GameStop with disdain. The nerdy retailer made the mistake of announcing incredible markups for the Pokémon 30th Anniversary trading card set back in July 2026.

The move proved so controversial that GameStop adjusted its Pokémon price s multiple times. Once the set was out, GameStop's tags still seemed exorbitant — that is, until wider market prices for the 30th Anniversary collection settled.

For better or worse, GameStop might well be the best deal you can find on Pokémon cards.
