2026 has been a big year for Overwatch . In addition to a yearlong power-struggle narrative arc running throughout the revitalized hero shooter, Blizzard Entertainment will make good on plans to release a whopping 10 heroes for Overwatch this year.

That's a massive difference from the game's previous cadence, which averaged around three heroes per year. And while the 10th anniversary for Overwatch was something of an anomaly, Blizzard says it plans to stick with seasonal hero releases.
